As fashionlover I love to do some fashion experiments every now and then of course. A few weeks ago it was the cap. Cap? Yes, cap. You can’t scare me easily with an item after seeing a lot and wore some -the cap and other headgear is definately an exception to that. So call me a “cap”, but there I went; like I never went another way… with the cap outdoors.

The choice for this experiment was not even voluntarily, because when I bought the cap, I actually wanted the scarf. The thing was I was receiving the cap with it, and my online bought twin was heading my direction. Just for a minute I was hoping they would forget to send me the cap, but then I found the set neatly together and sealed at my doorway. The ‘thing’ was laying a bit neglected at my desk, when after a while I started to find my behaviour irritating: either wear it, or throw it away.

Option 1 was a shame to me; I payed for the cap (just a sale price, but still…) and honoustly; it was a nice set with the scarf. Besides I wanted to proof to myself that I was able to wear it. Why was option 2 freaking me out so much then?

Since years I have the association with caps, hats, whatever of for example statically hair. What will be necessary visible, as I’m not allowed to wear them in class. Besides I seemd to only have tried on caps that were dropping from my head or were itching like hell. Besides it’s one of the fewest accesoirees I have a hard time to have inspiration with. Often I heard they looked on me well, often I saw them looking well at anyone else, but there was never a flame.

However; today was the day I was going for it! ‘Thing’ on, door out. A pity that it wasn’t simple like that actually; there was maybe half an houre between these two actions. A bit twisting, a bit turning; how did you actually wear such a cap? Finally I found the perfect baggy position for it and went to school. After some critic like: ‘You’re a little late girl, there’s no more cold left!’ there were hard (friendly?) laughs.

A few weeks later I put on the cap two times. On days I had a lot of time for the proces of twisting and turning, that is. The days I had to run for my bus -98% of the cases- I was leaning towards my loyal black scarf. The day I wore the cap it did is job though, I have to say: it was snowing, and my hair was staying ‘snow-free’ very nicely. This relief was short-term though; when I was returning home my careful dried hair had the perfect hair-do ‘cap’! I tried, but guess three times what item on my desk I’m neglecting for a week already…
