>Almost two weeks ago I showed you The ugly side of life: nails which were stained from the nail polish overload, biten for the weakness, and infected because of the pulling. Shortly: my nails had become very unhealthy and I wanted to share with you what I could do in two weeks to make them more healthy again.

Notice that it wasn’t my goal to make my nails longer. At the end that is the final goal, but I first wanted to make them back to strength again.

Tadaaa! These are my nails after thirteen days. My left hand is very pretty again (that hand wasn’t that bad anyway) and all nails have the same length.
My right hand has recovered a lot (no infection, no biting, and hardly signs of pulling anymore!) but the bitten nail will need a bit more time to grow equally long to the others.

I didn’t expect that nail polish free days would let the staining in my nails remove so much! Even my boyfriend said: hey, your nails aren’t that green anymore! I didn’t use any nail whitening product, but my nails did get whiter by themselves!

However, what I love the most about this challenge is that I experienced that I can survive without nail polish too. I was really giving myself a hard life by álways needing to have my nails perfect. Now I already used nail polish, removed it, and waited two days for the next polish session. Never would have waited with a new polish so long before!

As I am quite fed up my nails aren’t as long any more as they were before (check this link for proof), I am continuing with taking care of my nails very good and give them rest of the polish every now and then. Also I have a new mind set of nó pulling and other stuff. Sometimes I am admitting to the weakness, but not as much as before. A good and determined mind set is everything in this case.
