>From July, Dutch shops (I don’t know about international shops) will start to sell the Sleek – Limited Edition- Caribbean collection. I found the palette –Curaçao- on eBay already, and I thought it was great to make an outstanding make-up look with. No matter who you are or what you say: I can guarantee you that Í will be the biggest appreciator of this palette, haha. Love the brightness! Thank you Sleek!
If you like to see swatches of this palette, or the palette itself, before you see the look, you could check out this link.
Though I am not unsatisfied, the look is still a little amateurish to me. I think I am going to follow a few tutorials again, the upcoming time, to learn and practice a bit more. Can’t wait till I’ll see this make-uplook in half a year, and think it is awful – that means I have improved a lot. Should add that I do think this look looks much better in real life, these photos don’t really do justice unfortunately.
I tried to create a look with associations to Caraçao, though I haven’t been there. Anyway, I wanted to be tropical, glowy and shiny. That is why I started with a shimmer powder on cheeks, the T-zone and more: I wanted all-over-glowy look, as I was allowed to go extreme, right?
I created two different eyes, as you can see. I wanted to keep them quite abstract, so I wouldn’t look like a childish drawing. My first eye could mean either banana or the Sun. My second eye something like a crocodile, or a palm tree. Of course there are more options possible. If you have other associations: let me know!
Do you like this look?
Shimmer/highlighter:
Essence Sun Club highlighter powder, 01: summer glow
Eyes:
Milani ‘Mauve-a-Mia’ lipliner
Sleek Caribbean Collection Curaçao palette, shades:
– Tequila sunrise (orange)
– Martini (champagne)
– Bloody Mary (red)
– Screwdriver (yellow)
– Green Iguana (turquoise)
– Apres midori (green)
– Green martini (kaki)
– Singapore Sling (pink)
I used the lipliner as a base on my eyelids (after NYX eye primer), so the eyelids would correspond with my lips. Then I added Singapore Sling to the inner corner of the eye, and Bloody Mary to the outer corner. I used Martini along my eyelid ‘line’, like an eyeliner, and blended. The rest will be obvious: I used Screwdriver for the left eye creation, and Green Iguana, Green Martini and Apres midori for the right one. Then added a little green to my left eye, along the waterline. My right eye got finished with a little yellow along the waterline. Mascara, and there we go!
Lips:
Milani ‘Mauve-a-Mia’ lipliner
Sleek Caribbean Collection Curaçao palette, shades:
– Bloody mary (red)
– Singapore sling (pink)
– Martini (champagne)
I used the lip liner as a base, and then divided the lips in four parts, so to say. The upper right colour (for me) and the lower left corner are finished off with the pink shade Singapore sling, and the upper left and the lower right corner have a cover of Bloody mary. I added a little Marini around my lips, so they would become a little bit more shiny, and blended the lines away. The effect is very subtle, but very neutral to me, and I liked it.
